I'm hoping something similar to this will be the solution they're working on, because on top of new armours, there is also the rumor of town clothes! That's just too much armor eh? I've got my eye on at least 2 new armor types for each of my chars once factions comes out but I definitely have no room for that stuff with all my weapons/headgear/Yule Caps
Dun make me have to delete my Yule Cap Anet! Plz dun make me!!

To the OP if you spam support enough they may just give in.......
Its always on their to do list blah blah like the auction house so long ago. They will probably put it in after some massive Nerfage update when they see enough *i hate Joo ANET* threads on the forums to distract players like how they did it for the observer mod after AoE nerf(if memory serves me correctly, i could be wrong about the time frame with both are within each other). Currently extra storage to them still seem like a low priority item along with AH. Some players solve it by buying another copy of GWP (see why its not solved yet?).
Anet got bigger fish to fry with factions in 17 days.

Then add to that the lovely new Attire from Factions, and then my Mesmer becomes unable to pick up drops. Personally, I think that would be a very good idea. I've always liked the idea of a 'wardrobe' or arming chest. There must be an issue for Anet in regards to storage as they seem to be reluctant to expand it... I'm not sure what that is though I suspect it's a bandwidth issue. However, with Factions coming up and all those new armours, it's a problem that will only get worse... especially for Mesmers

Maybe they should introduce, the luggage? Just like in the Terry Pratchett books?

You answered yourself Mr Shop Owner guy. You can charge more for items and make more money. Which is itself the problem.
Speakin in econ, increasing storage causes the demand curve to move to the right while the supply curve remains constant (Yay, I can fit another huge buttload of armor! And a few more cool weapons!). This will result in an increase in the price level. As more people respond to the increase in the price level (by farming more) the supply curve will shift to the right, causing a decrease in the price level.
The problem is, without exact knowledge of just how big the shifts are, there is no way to tell whether the cycle is inflationary or deflationary.
Anet does not like that, because it is almost certain to result in inflation (at least for a period of time), which translates into higher costs for beginners who will have to pay more for everything, since they have nothing. This means that the game is less accessible, and therefore there will be less new accounts sold due to bad word of mouth.
Since the goal of any gaming company is to _expand_ its userbase, not just sell to the current one, you can bet your boots that they have considered that issue, and are unwilling to expand storage, at least in part, because of it.
The other reason is definitely that they _need_ that income from purchases coming in as often as possible so that they can afford to pay the rent.
...but yeah, just like in Morrowind, I would love to have some armor storage mannequins.
At least we don't have a buttload of herbs to store.

i just finished the light phantastic for the ... 50th time? i am sooo hooked on pratchett's books...
the thing about the luggage - it's only cool if you are the only one with it: imagine every crapway famefarmer or 55bot running around with a luggage -- LAME AND NOT COOL!
/petition for sabretalon & me beeing the only persons to get the luggage. >_<

gaile gray lately mentioned something about some sort of special storage for special stuff -- but no precise announcement on what it will be yet.
time will tell...

Just for grins:
EVE Online just set the first ever limit on storage, in that you can now only have 1000 stacks of items per container. Of course, the number of items in a stack is unlimited (not 250). And the number of containers is unlimited...And the number of locations where you can have containers is unlimited...
(Feel the envy...)

I think for most people, storing items isn't that big of a problem. If you use one extra character as storage, he can hold a lot of items. However, storing materials and armor is very difficult. There are too many different types of materials and some people want to have different armors for different builds (or just to have them all for style). I don't want to buy new runes every time I change to a different build, so I just buy an extra armor piece and put the rune in. If you intend to use your PvE character for PvP too, you pretty much have to have multiple armor sets unless you plan to always have the same build (i.e. in PvP sometimes you want to be a lightning ele, sometimes an earth, or you might want to be 55 for PvE). All the holiday items take up a lot of room too. I think these items should be made more efficient in terms of storage, they don't benefit bot farmers (bot farmers don't need/want multiple armors). Also, space for other items would be limited enough so that players would want to sell them. Maybe the holiday items can have a command similar to "/preorder", or there is a closet which contains a list of all your armors and you can choose from it. This would also make it alot more organized for people with multiple armor sets.

Hey I just had a fantastic thought!!
maybe if you could take the bags that you buy and drop them into the Xunlai Storage box?
I mean, these bags.. you can physically hold 2 of them right? so they in effect take a 'bag' slot about your character... so why not be able to pick those bags and drop them into a storage slot?
that would...wow.. that would increase effective storage by 10x !!!
woohoooo *dreams*

Storage Issue
Does anyone out there know whether we will get a second storage when we combine the new Factions game with the original Guild Wars? I ask this because i have already found that with four players my storage is too small. While i am on the subject of storage i would like to ask everyone what their thoughts are on allowing a guild hall storage for the guilds use.
Thanks in advance Cool Troll John

GW-P = 4 Char Slots & 1 Storage
GW-F = 4 Char Slots & 1 Storage
GW-P/F (Merged) = 6 Char Slots & ??? Storage
GW-P/F (Purchase Serperate) = 8 Char Slots & 2 Storage
I'm sure there will be some kind of "funny" math to determine the storage amount for merged accounts. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone knows for sure.

So you lose 25% of your slots when you merge, so you'll lose 25% of your two storages. Thats like what, 1 full one and a half of another?

They've said that storage improvements--for everyone, not just for Factions buyers--are coming. What 'improvements' mean is yet to be determined.

Maybe they let us stack one armour set in one storage slot or something. That would help a LOT.
